One of the greatest upsets in modern Heavyweight boxing history? Haha, damnit Captain, you sipping that Jesus juice like Lamon on this one! He knocked out Klitschko, who just a couple fights before that had already been completely OBLITERATED by Cory Sanders and shown to be totally human and beatable (and Chris Bryd had also beaten him previously, but I believe Klitschko had a claimed injury for that one). It was an upset of course but biggest upset in modern Heavyweight boxing history? The Cory Sanders fight was 100x more of an upset LOL. Then he beat Golota, but Golota at that point was a complete shell of anything he ever was or ever could have been. So nothing shocking or great there at all.
That’s basically all he has on his resume.
Oh, and Klitschko got his revenge and KOd Lamon as well.
So, yes, I stand by my original assessment, he was 'aight. At best.
Bump for a true warrior who was 'aight! Those days of boxing were the heavyweight good old days. When you set aside the late 80s and the earlyish 90s as the real heavyweight good old days in my lifetime. Love Merchant and Lampley, wished they had never shut off HBO boxing.
