Las Vegas Got Hit By... Something

Why weren’t people out on their porches watching the storm roll in. That’s how we do it in Missouri and Iowa.

I honestly can’t understand how you are confused by my question.

Storm comes in, you go out and watch. Lightening, tornado, whatever.

Bullshit! These are those new wireless Bluetooth light poles!

I kid, I kid. I should have said they aren’t connected together in any meaningful way relative to pulling each other down.

I’ve seen serious dust storms in Vegas before winds blowing 55+

We had a microburst hit our subdivision in 2017. It was partly sunny. I only got to see the last 15 seconds of it but it was strange to see it so windy with it being as sunny as it was. Only affected about a 1000’ x 1000’ area. One street had 6" trees snapped and fences blown over and the next street over there wasn’t any damage at all.

Apparently this happens on Lake Mead and sinks a bunch of boats.
Scary shit.

Derecho? Straight line winds which can exceed 100mph. Like getting smacked by a tornado.

I probably was probably only a couple blocks away from the Tropicana.

I drove home, stopped at Whole Foods and didn’t notice anything.

But around 4pm before hitting the road everybody’s phone was going off with an emergency wind alert.

Funny I just didn’t run into anything.
