I can agree with that. It’s gotten worse since they took pt off for Covid. The amount of whining I’ve heard about the new standards and protocols makes me realize they need the change.

Would be interested in hearing from some of you Marines on this. I know they dumped all their tanks and switched to a missile-based island littoral defense, is it as bad as this author says?

So, he just got back to me. I don’t want to get too specific, but he has intimate knowledge on the force design planning. He said it was made up of reqlly smart Marines that were able to see where things were headed. Basically they believed that they jad become a 2nd Army which meant big, slow, and heavy. Had to get lean and fast, and Ukraine proved them right.
He also doesn’t hold the author in very high regard and said the article is filled with lies and misrepresentations.
Sorry if my reply is a little jumbled. You never know who’s on here and I’m trying to not say anything that could pinpoint his identity. The Marine Corps is a very small place. Lol

Dude I’m soooo fucking glad I’m retired. In my entire career as an aircraft maintainer I NEVER needed to run 2 miles outside of PT. I could do my job faster than guys in way better shape. Why? Because I worked like a member of the E4 mafia even after making rank. I wanted to get shit done so I could get back to the air conditioning and card game. Of course the ones to get fucked the hardest by this will be the flightline.

In todays ACE construct the maintainers will be in the austere conditions, think launching planes from highways outside the wire. In 10 years more than half the fleet will be remotely piloted. Pretty sure maintenance are the ones who need PT the most.
More reason I’m glad I’m retired.
