My wife will ask me and we talk about politics about once a week.
I even try to give her information from both sides to balance out stuff.
We are mostly center of the road types being force to decide since the parties have became more radical in recent years.
Really the Center should start its own party and start to take the country back again.
You can certainly change your spouses point of view. I did with mine. She is very strong willed and opinionated. The thing is, she noticed I was almost always right. And now she asks my opinion on things going on. I never take a super hard stance on anything right away, I try to leave an area for evolution in thought.
If they don’t you can be certain she doesn’t respect you and is looking for a better guy.

Thankfully, my wife and I both agree that ALL politicians are scumbags.
I do not understand how a marriage can work if the two people do not align morally/politically. Like my wife is not addicted to news like I am but her core beliefs are pretty much the same as me.

She grew up where we live in NW Indiana, which for the most part is heavily Democrat because of the Unions and steel mills. R’s never had a chance in a lot of local elections.
Obama’s 2nd campaign run changed her tune. His 2nd time in office changed it further.
Things have changed with the Dems moving so far left that most of her family which were solid Dems vote Republican on the national and State level. While they still vote Dem on the local level where GOP has no chance they vote for DINOS
I have mentioned my mom lives with me.
She suffered from Trump Syndrome bad(2020)…talking about hating him with vile language she never used before.
Actually caused fights between us over silly stuff…I did not know she was that ill at the time because she still worked a regular job at the time and such.
Anyways she has come a full circle and admits Trump is better than either Biden or Harris…really she does not care anymore.
She is also doing better health wise than she has in years…happy and smiling enjoying life watching Sandy Wandy and Rusty Bones playing around.
There is a correlation between mental health and total obsession with these politician’s words considering they are largely empty.
