Hey man, thanks for the offer. If you have any leads on people who can take data and put it on a page in various grids, let me know. Of course I’d pay, I’m looking for someone real solid. One would crudely look like a sherdog fightfinder, and one would be boxes of text linked by a line (showing the branching out of different wrestling organizations). Down the road I have to take the data from those two pieces and get them formatted properly.

I remember you telling me about the books, I’m patiently waiting to see a Pancrase book sometime before America’s 300th anniversary

I’ve never heard one negative accusation from anyone regarding Bob Shamrock. Bob may have had certain leanings and the struggles that come with that, but the work he did with the boys at the ranch all those years was incredibly honorable. Bob was highly instrumental in seeing that Ken found the proper training in those early days when there was very little available. First with pro wrestling schools. When Ken’s first pro wrestling instructor Buzz Sawyer passed in Sacramento, Bob found a job in Mooresville, NC completely across the country so Ken could train at Nelson Royal’s school. He then met Dean Malenko who turned him on to the strong style of pro wrestling in Japan that eventually became Pancrase and the rest is history. The man transformed lives and turned troubled boys with nothing and nobody into men with a true sense of direction and identity. Only tremendous respect for Bob Shamrock.

It does seem that certain fighters from the Lion’s Den may not have completely gotten along with Bob all the time or agreed with how he did certain things maybe from a business standpoint (Scott Bessac & Tony Galindo for example), but none of this has anything to do with how he handled things at the home or treated the boys for all those years.

I think a roundtable show about Bob with the right people would be really good. Maybe Ken and/or Frank would be willing to jump back on for an episode like this. To honor the work he did sure, but to also get insight on how he helped get Ken connected and started in the sport, how he helped manage and operate the Lion’s Den, his relationships with fighters, his business sense as it pertained to fighting in the early days, information on the Shamrock 2000 gym, etc. I’d be very interested in an episode like this.

This is an old school fighter who competed throughout Oklahoma in the 90’s. From all I can find, he only fought MMA four times, but was undefeated with a guillotine choke victory over Mikey Burnett! I don’t know a lot about him, but I would love to learn more about him and his career and why he didn’t compete longer.

I think a roundtable type show completely about the Jungle Fight 1 event would be awesome! A breakdown of each fight, shenanigan’s that took place, etc. I’m sure Mark Schultz would participate.

4-0 from what I see on tapology, but can’t find anymore on him. He trained with kickboxer Dale “Apollo” Cook in Tulsa.
