MMA History Podcast(TM) Rafiel Torre + Roundtable

The one thing that drives me crazy is when the person asking questions wants the sound it’s of them dunking on the subject

Let them amswer the question

Discuss the lies after

Mondays release we discuss the issues in his story as well as recall what made Rafiel special as a reporter

The guy did legit reporting… I know many won’t admit that fact, but he was a good reporter

Rafiel was THE journalist in regards to nhb

One thing that seems to fit a common pattern with this type of character.

Is the willingness to try to pull it off and continue on the path.

They do the shit we may think is fun to try for a single conversation or encounter but they keep it going for months and years.

They live the parody the joke the prank becomes the life the con.

It was easy to get away with at the time since it was difficult to fact-check. I even created my own list of win-loss records for UFC fighters because databases like Sherdog didn’t exist yet.

Indeed, and that kind of thing never has a good outcome

Torre was a personable guy. I remember him posting on forums and chatting with people in various chatrooms back when adcombat was one of the main sources of news.

I remember him from Mousel’s BJJ Forum. One time, he posted that he caught Randy Couture staring at his wife’s tits.

I also just noticed your next video is now following that same style of the more popular Harold Howard one we discussed here. I think that’s a good move in the right direction for views and if I had to guess I would say this video is also going to get more views than the average possibly due to these small changes

I like the different styles of content. I like the interview part where we get to see and hear the fighters talk about it, and I like the short documentary style where one thing gets analyzed and thought out. I agree it will likely get more viewers.

Does anyone know if the owners/founders of ADCombat went on to form new MMA sites, or whatever happened to those guys?

It’s cool that they are going to be promoting your site now too.

Another thing I think would be cool to see more of is like a round table on a specific subject with multiple past guests.

It would be tougher to schedule but could be fun having for example all the Lion Den guys on they have spoken with to discuss a specific topic like their individual initiations to the team

In all honesty we need 2 more editors

We have a shit load of content that can be weaved into docu style releases

It is too much for 1 person to do alone… but we are trying

Round table discussions

  • this is something that we are talking about doing

After we hit 10K followers I plan on approaching Ant Evans about participating in a consistent events discussion release on Thursdays

Damn it would be tough to get those guys.Or really any old school nhb school/academy. But something like that would be really cool, even if it were 1 or 2 guys then Mike, Joey, etc could fill out the round table. Even if they didn’t get a lions den guy but got a guy who was around them back then.

Like you said maybe just pick a topic on it and get some tape to look at during discussion. Could be rules, gloves, fights in specific orgs, etc.. anything

It is really cool of them to do that. They have nothing to gain from it but helping out and bringing together the martial arts community.
