The King of Rock and Rumble, Elvis Sinosic. Hit it on Horn in his infamous debut in 2001.

I always misremembered it as just a triangle armbar. I happened to rewatch and realized it was a dead orchard. Dead Orchard’s have been a big deal in BJJ the last few years after Nathan Orchard started hitting them in competition.

I have a few guys who are good at them.

I was looking at it this morning and actually saw a clip of Horn talking about it on your podcast. I never saw anyone intentionally set up one that far back, I’m guessing Elvis just freestyled it? Elvis made up a gogoplata long before Nino Schembri on the fly in either Rings or Pancrase too (I think he got a rope escape out of it). Dude had a very creative mind for grappling.

After departing from the UFC, Art Davie created an event called X Arm

Do you know who was their inaugural heavyweight champion was?

Art Davie for doing this

Paul Buentello?

Homer Moore

If it were to power rank the belts that the people of this forum would desire

3 WAMMA belt
2 UFC 5 Superfight belt
1 X Arm Heavyweight title

Fun fact:

I asked Barnett which title meant more to him:

  1. being the youngest UFC Heavyweight Champion
    or
  2. being the last holder of the openweight King of Pancrase title

Josh thought for a second and said “King of Pancrase. Because I was bringing it full circle from my coach (Hume) competing there and being able to bring that title home to him was awesome.”
