Former ONE strawweight champion Jarred Brooks is returning to flyweight for his next fight against an opponent who was chasing his title not that long ago.
The UFC and RIZIN veteran who has spent the past four years in ONE is set to face Mansur Malachiev as part of the upcoming ONE Fight Night 36 card, which takes place on Oct. 3 from Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE officials confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
The fight serves as Brooks’ chance to stop the bleeding after dropping back-to-back fights for the first time since 2018 when he felt to Deiveson Figueiredo and Jose “Shorty” Torres in the UFC. In his most recent outing, Brooks fell short in his trilogy with Joshua Pacio after suffering a second-round TKO loss.
