Anything I’m afraid of, I confront it. Like right now, I’m scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become. Because this is reality, and in reality, I’m invincible.
~ Mike Tyson (2024)
First halfway clean blow on Mike and he’s over. Those saying he can win are talking like he’s 48. He’s 58!!!
There’s a limit and he’s WAY past it.
Durability is gone over 50. Completely.
Watch Evander vs Belfort and keep in mind that Belfort is well in his 40’s in his first pro boxing match and that Evander beat Mike 2x. AND Evander had been retired many years less than Mike. AND Evander was known for clean living. Mike to say the least… is not. Evanders body looked great too. But when they touched gloves it took all of 10! Seconds for the crier to realize that Evander fighting at 58 was a very bad idea.
Watching Tyson is gonna be like watching your favorite pornstar making her comeback after years away. You’re gonna feel sad & dirty when you see this.
Having said all that.
I hope against hope that he lands on Paul before he takes a single jab and Paul is laying flat with his arms extending to the ceiling like guys get when the ko nearly kills them.
Mike’s only chance is to land a perfect headshot before he himself eats a single blow.
Yeah. That’s my concern. With evander, it was obvious he had zero movement the second the fight started. That wasn’t apparent looking at his physique or any clips I saw of him pre fight.
Tyson looks great- visually. His pad work looks good, and his movement in 5 sec clips looks good. It will come down to how manufactured those clips are, if he can keep his legs working the way his mind wants them to, and what happens when he gets hit.
I’m not sure if age results in a deterioration of your ‘chin’, cause we haven’t seen a ton of examples like this, but it wouldn’t exactly be shocking if it does.
Every one of those clips that I’ve seen, the video is sped up. At least, any of those that start with, “My God! Look how fast Tyson is!!” To me it’s a tell.
Paul is a serious betting favorite for a reason and it’s not that he’s a very good boxer. The spots they are picking for him are great, except the Fury guy.
The only thing I would hate is a lame fight where Tyson is too slow and can’t keep a pace, and Jake plays it safe and rarely gets close enough to land anything. Ill take anything else and be happy.
