Anthony Hernandez and Roman Dolidze look to enter themselves into a loaded UFC middleweight title conversation.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Hernandez and Dolidze are targeted to headline UFC Vegas 109 on Aug. 9 at the UFC APEX. RealKevinK on Twitter first reported the news.
Hernandez has been on an absolute tear at 185 pounds as he enters his second main event on a seven-fight win streak. “Fluffy” earned a pair of finishes in 2024 over Roman Kopylov and — in his first UFC headliner — Michel Pereira. The No. 8 ranked middleweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings picked up a decision win over Brendan Allen at UFC Seattle in February in his most recent outing.
Dolidze headlines his second fight card of 2025 after defeating Marvin Vettori at UFC Vegas 104 in March. The No. 13 ranked middleweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings brings a three-fight win streak into the contest.

Hernandez is a dog. He might not be a good athlete but the guy is a born fighter. I can see him getting into the top 5.

Solid main event. I never bet against Fluffy, dude is relentless and beats the hell out of people with his ground and pound.
Pretty meh card. There are some potentially fun fights on here and a few names if you are a hardcore fan. Last card was very weak on paper and ended up being a banger.
