Once again, analytics are playing a factor in who hits lead off again.

Schneider is hitting .450 against the Yankees this season.

Schneider is also 1/6 against Fried with a .167 BA and 2 Ks. Are we just supposed to ignore those numbers, because he’s hitting well against pinstripes?

There is no world where Springer and Bichette shouldn’t be the only lead off bats, if we had a competent manager.

Personally I think Springer should be the everyday leadoff (with Bo filling in on days Springer needs rest). You’ve got a 35 y/o guy having a career resurgence kinda year, and can throw Bo, Vlad and Barger in behind him in any order, and it’s a GIANT problem for any team to deal with.
