As far as Caleb goes, the great news is we don’t need him to be Patrick Mahomea right now.
He has so many weapons around him we just need him to manage the game and not turn it over. If continues to show flashes here and there while managing the game as he learns, we will be in a great spot this season
With that being said, I still think he’s going to be a monster this season! Rookie of the year and I think he goes for over 30 TDs
yep, caleb just needs to be conservative, not get hurt or make any horrible reads/throws and I’ll consider his rookie year a success.
I really wanted Fields to work, but so far, his time with the Steelers is proving that the Bears made the right decision. the guy just can’t put it all together, but now he’s Pittsburgh’s problem
To quote Pulp Fiction, let’s not start sucking everyone’s dicks quite yet.
The offensive has looked great, but it’s preseason. Rome Odunze looks like he’s going to be a beast. I love his attitude and he’s got a good head on his shoulders.
Plus, it’s nice to see he and Caleb actually speak decent English instead of Ebonics or sound like hoodrats.
Defense looks awesome though. They’ve got tough cuts ahead of them on that side.
I’m normally never optimistic about the Bears, but they have playoff potential this year.
edited to say Cole Kmet’s mom is fucking hot and I wanted to bang her the worst way in high school
Yeah, the cuts are going to be tough. I hope they can make room for a guy like Ready Stewart who’s been balling as a UDFA.
The QB room finally looks good with Williams and Bagent, I would waive Rypien and place Austin Reed on the practice squad.
Very good depth at running back with Swift, Herbert, Johnson and now Velus Jones. Maybe put Wheeler on the practice squad.
Also great depth at WR with Moore, Allen, Odunze, Tyler Scott, Dante Pettis and Colin Johnson. I would move Colin Johnson over to TE3 behind Kmet and Everett but this probably won’t happen since they like Marcedes Lewis so much as the veteran and leadership presence.
I think the biggest concern is the offensive line, now if Kiran Amegadjie can develop quickly into a reliable swing tackle, this could alleviate some of the concerns.
Kyler Gordon looks like he’s going to have a breakout year. I think Austin Booker is going to be a stud, he just needs a bit of time to develop NFL skills and put on a bit more size but his athleticism and motor is there.
My only concern with Caleb Williams is whether he can be effective throwing from the pocket due to his height. We know he can scramble and throw on the run but I’d rather have pocket efficiency over flashy plays. We’ll see.
Bear down! I have never been this stoked for a Bears season. We may finally have a really good qb for some years and he actually has talent right away to throw to. We’ve only ever had great defenses. This is going to be different.
Jaylon Johnson drops a potential int near the goal line, the one db is right there and can’t make a play on the titans second td and now allen drops a would be td
