I said it in the old raiders thread on the og that Antonio pierce was def not the right guy for the job. Players love him because he’s their friend and one of them. I said he wouldn’t make it to a second year. Idk what other coaches are out there. Maybe they can beg bisaccia and gruden to come back

how did you figure that? We had only backup QB and RBs to start the season. Our oline is suspect at best.
That Minshew’s moxie would be enough. Obviously not the case. That the defense would keep them in games and the offense would find enough points to win. Expected the Ravens game to be a springboard, not the highlight to the season.
Rb’s to me don’t matter much in the NFL minus a few select talents. Even then they have to be on the right team. If there is a plug and play position in the NFL it is RB. Like you mentioned though when the oline is not solid that changes things.

I’m not exactly complaining about our 1st rd pick but, yeah, it seemed like a miss-play when it went down. A bunch of franchise QBs in that draft, and we couldn’t fill the most glaring need. I’m afraid the we have a long road of suckiness ahead. As long as a Davis is at the helm…

Anyone like the idea of going after Sam Darnold? Raiders have not been great at drafting QBs during my lifetime, other than Carr who was a mixed bag. Their best quarterbacks have always been veterans who at one point in their career were discarded by teams. Did see the Vikings might franchise tag him for 2025 though.
This would let them maybe nab Hunter with their first pick. Another option is trading down for more picks.
we need to have a coach that can develop and use a QB. I’m not against bringing in Darnold or getting a rookie, but there’s no way our team can develop them. I wonder if Turned is going to stay as our OC but rumors are he’s headed to UNC with BB.

What are we thinking about as a QB in 2025?
Likely not going to grab one of the few highly rated QB’s with where they are in the draft. Raiders never seem to draft QB’s, other than Carr, all that great regardless. So:
Aaron Rodgers for a year or two?
Russell Wilson?
Trade first round pick to the Jags for Trevor Lawrence?
Sam Darnold?
What other options are there?
Darnold is plug in piece into a system with receivers, a running game, and offensive line.
Raiders have no running game, need a few pieces on the offensive line.
I definitely don’t want to see them drafting Sanders.
I wouldn’t offer Darnold more than 2 years. Pete Carroll can develop qbs. Draft Dart in the later rounds.

Pundits are not like the Jeanty pick. I’ll take it though. Maybe they could have traded down. Will be interesting to see who else they pick up.
The trade downs and picking up two offensive linemen in round three was all right.
Media was gonna shit on their pick regardless. Raiders could have drafted cam Ward and they would just repeat the talking points of not having anybody to block for him.
Only pick I wasn’t over the moon for was the cb pick. I would have grabbed a better cb before the wide receiver pick.
