I agree but disagree at the same time. Yeah he was with it, and coherent. But was continuously being knocked down every 5 seconds. Ultimately gun to my head, I’d say it should have continued.
And I think Sean has always been likable. But his fight persona is arrogant and cocky, many people here hate him and love seeing him lose. Maybe that has tapered off a bit now
Omalley seems to be a nice guy that cares about others and just happens to be a really talented fighter. And for whatever reason wants to look like a trailer park clown. But still, seems like a nice kid. Seems like someone if we were at the same gym I would be friends with him.
Ive only heard Talbot talk a little bit but he just seems like a total douchebag. Or like I said earlier, he looks and talks like he would be a bully in a disney tv show.
I dont see anything likeable about him at all. But I havent heard him say much.
After the fight he seemed disrespect to Figueroa. After then after the fights when talking to the tv crew they asked him something and his response was a cringe something about his knucles on his opponents face.
I dont remember exactly but struck me as douchey. Most guys usually talk about how great their opponent is after they beat their ass. He seemed to be shitting on his only.
I just rewatched the post fight interview. The only thing he says referencing Figgy was “I just mopped the floor with two world champions and I want another one”
Which is true, and also a compliment to both Cejudo and Figgy. He didn’t say anything else about him
“I just mopped the floor with them”. Come on man, both are far far far past their prime.
I just really dont like shitting on a fighter you just beat. Especially if there wasnt a lot of bad blood leading up to. Although maybe there was some Im not aware of.
I just really dont like guys shitting on fighters they already beat. Especially at the ends of their careers when they are there to be the sacrificial lamb.
Same could’ve been said about Petr Yan before taking the O’Malley fight. What did he stand to gain by fighting a young guy who already lost to Chito?
That’s the way it goes in MMA. Sometimes you have to give the young guy who’s on a run a shot. O’Malley does a ton of sitting while demanding these days. It’s how he got the Merab rematch. And now he expects another after a gift decision over Song, and a win over a cherry picked bum at the white house.
I felt like that first Chito fight was a fluke though. Omalley lost feeling in his leg and couldnt stand. I guess one could say Chito caused that but Omalley looked far better than Chito before that. And he dominated him in the rematch.
I think we disagree on that cause I don’t think he shit on him.
He was just being honest. Whether he was past his prime or not. That was the biggest fight of Talbott’s career. As favored as he was I didn’t think there would be zero resistance.
