Mixedmartialarts was losing members for years before Alta, because the site was poorly managed and it bred all kinds of weird negativity imo.
I get where you’re coming from - I just don’t want to make a carbon copy of what was over there. This site can be its own thing.
I would love to see an off-site archive made for this type of project though. Especially the 9/11 thread, pooper thread, Eastern Euro, etc.

I know you have visions for the site but i think enough members would like to keep the old threads, at least for posterity’s sake. I like that we have new threads to start with but itd be nice to be able to go back everyone in a while. I would go back through classic threads even when they were still available
Post them in a separate forum locked so people can review but not alter. Not a bad idea. Could make that area a paid perk and unlock the MMA Zone. I truly feel we’ll struggle to remain relevant without the MMA side of things being accessible to all here.
I really like that idea of keeping that portion paywalled. I think that drive more incentive to purchase a membership than the mma portion.
I cant tell you how many posters i saw who claimed the came from the ug and had stopped going there altogether.

Agreed. A log of the anger was because of the threads lost. It seems daft to lose them forever if we have the option of archiving them here in some way

It’s funny, I went to the UG and didn’t know the OG existed for years, lol. Once I found out, I split time, then one I stopped training, I basically was almost only on the OG. I think if the forum will ever grow, it needs to he open though.
I think Connormania was the final straw for me and the UG. The boxing thread was on the UG and I posted on it a LOT but not much else apart from that.
I don’t want them archived, I want then brought back to life, preferably here. The boxing thread is 106k posts, I was on that every day. Myself along with the likes of BarryBonds_MVP, @SmilinLikeRashad, @DY3, Randy_Watson etc were on that thread constantly. Just throw away 106k posts? No thanks. That’s not why I did this.
