Ongoing horror thread

Got around to seeing Sinners tonight. Was nice to see @kingofpancakes and @RIGPIG finally getting roles as twins. Thank you Ryan Coogler for listening to me.

Saw Bring her Back today.

Yeah it was solid but nowhere as good as Talk to Me. Maybe a 7 outta 10

The brutal scenes were tough to watch but have probably seen much much worst.

good watch though

As long as Netflix has nothing to do with it, yes.

Broke my no horror in the summer rule and watched Bring Her Back. I immediately regret this decision.

lol. Solid movie but depressing as hell. Fucking up my good times summer vibe. 7/10. First hour is more just weird drawn out shit with that really annoying old woman, then the horror kicks in and pays off.

Ending is pretty dark, but at least there’s a little nugget of something to feel good about added in.

I tried watching this on Max last night and there was some ugly black chick in the corner doing sign language wtf??

lol I watched it on MAX also, but no blacks sign language version. Found this:
" “Sinners,” a film directed by Ryan Coogler, is debuting on Max with a unique feature: a version interpreted in Black American Sign Language (BASL). This marks the first time a streaming service has exclusively released a film with a BASL version. BASL is a distinct dialect of American Sign Language, developed within Black deaf communities, particularly during the segregation era. The BASL interpretation is performed by Nakia Smith, a prominent voice in the Black deaf community."

AMC+ is 99 cents a month for two months for prime days on Amazon. Good timing as my subscription ends tomorrow :joy:. Great way to access shudder.

Movie still sucked!

The Craft - Legacy (2020)

4.4/10 bowls of soup

Sequel to the 90s cult classic.

Lone Star Shark 2 (2025)

“After a trauma, a kayaker is stalked by a shark on a Texas lake.”
Just as comically bad as part one. Chick was hot but the movie is rough. Part 2 and 3 were released on July 1 together, so I have that gem to look forward to. Best trilogy ever. Oh, it’s a “XUMO original”. haha

2/10

Sure, why not? Can only get better based on the last one they made. Leatherface is a fun character, anything with him is worth checking out.

I have an old Leatherface comic from the 90s. I should read it one of these days. I’d buy comics back then based on the art/subject but wasn’t really a comic guy so I’d just page through them.

4 out of 10 is to high

I saw it in theaters, gave it a 7.5, good acting and it just suffered like so many horrors from a crappy ending (not just the last scene but the last 3rd act).

But before that it was really a great movie

After five friends inadvertently kill a pedestrian in a car accident, they cover up their involvement to avoid consequences. A year later, as they try to move on with their lives, a stalker sends them taunting messages about their crime. Realizing that the stalker is imitating a legendary serial killer, they seek help from two survivors of the Southport massacre of 1997.

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt reprise their roles from the first two films.
