I remember watching him back in the 80s and early 90s on weekend political shows with my dad and being fascinated by him. Then I started reading his books in my 20s. And I think he’s the greatest American philosopher and economic mind possibly since the founding.
When I went back to school at 40 and had to take Econ I was afraid I was going to end up with a leftist espousing bullshit. Day one the prof had “There are no solutions. There are only tradeoffs.” Written on the board. I knew where it came from and knew the class was going to be interesting. Prof spent most of the semester subtly trashing Bernie’s entire platform. It was spring of 2020 so it was GLORIOUS.
