Sprawling and punishing wrestlers with knees would be something every wrestler would have to worry about before they could even get a guy down and use their knees on the non-wrestler

This is the one I wish for the most. So many fights with wrestle-fuckers could have ended up much different.

But

#1 upkicks always allowed

#2 knees to the head of a downed opponent

Both are realistic and would really be great. #1 the easiest to add for sure.

The first rule that should be reinstated is allowing upkicks when you’re on your back under any circumstance

It would dramatically reduce stalling , IMO.

Plus, if you’re on your back , and your opponent is in your guard…..technically the guy in your guard is a downed opponent …..but it’s you whose on your back. So you’re down as well

This is the rule that drives me nuts for not being allowed. I think this is also one that won’t receive negative backlash like soccer kicks or downed knees

Yes this drives me crazy too… both guys literally on the ground and they should be able to throw any strike they want

Dana doesn’t try and get that changed because it makes it way more brutal and he would lose part of the audience. Probably a pretty substantial part of the audience. Stomps and soccer kicks would definitely be viewed as unsportsmanlike behavior. I think upkicks and knees wouldn’t be viewed as bad
