Its a fair point. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title was that the hand speed and power of someone like Tom would have gone very badly for Tim, but yeah, he did get the better of AA who was a good athlete with good boxing.
I think Tim is generally perceived as being a bit of a clumsy awkward dude who relied on his size a lot and had discipline/staying in shape issues. Its selling him short really, because there was a time where he was pretty damn legit, but at the same time you can kind of see where the image came from when you look at his low points.
Well one thing we have to acknowledge is that guys from the Coleman era through very recently had much more lax drug testing. That changes things slightly to be fair.
I totally disagree. His striking is rudimentary. Heās game but he doesnāt appear to have serious finishing one shot power. I think heād be savaged by Overeem or Cro Cop on the feet. His submission ability is not good and his wrestling is no where near Cain, Brock or Colemanās.
Yeah thats what I mean about how brutal Tims low points were, and its not like he was a badly past prime aging fighter at the time either.
Even the Randy loss was rough. Not that Randy isnt an ATG but still, its a guy in his mid 40s who is smaller than a lot of modern MWs, manhandling a BIG heavyweight who was seemingly in his prime. It aint a good look for Tim.
As weak as the current HW division genuinely is, a top HW today would be absolutely crucified for those losses and it would be constantly brought up as a demonstration of how shitty the HW era is.
Thatās just your opinion man, see if you have the same energy when he beats gane, but then you guys will say gane is shit an all the old pride guys would kill him
I always respect your opinion buddie, but I feel like you have made up your mind on hokit, after a only a couple of fights, give him three more against the top five guys, then if you still feel that way so be it
