I have enjoyed seeing wrestling in a digestible format that keeps flowing plus the action is “close” to the stage / mat.
Enjoyed seeing names that I have not watched in other formats and by this I mean the successful wrestlers World Champs, Gold Medal guys.
Example it is fun to watch Kyle Dake and especially in a match where he is the clear favorite but the opponent is good enough to 'put up a fight" which allows Dake to display his skills and to “show off” the sport of wresting in an exciting way/format that is easily accessible to any viewer that wants to tune in to the show on a Saturday night. Yes a small % of the general population may enjoy and understand, appreciate a guy like Dake in a competitive match but for the general fan if he dismantles a NCAA champion or similar it is entertaining.
The mat and “stage” is was highly accessible but it is a fan friendly set up, these fights and entourage and friends jumping in to the fights has ruined or threatens to ruin a good thing. Think about as a fan or especially as a kid if you can sit there and see the mat elevated with no sight barriers. It is a shame if they have to start restricting this with barriers or crowd control measures.
Do you guys all pay for a FOX Nation subscription or is there a free way to watch? BKFC is going to have their Baddest Man on the Planet Tournament on that platform and I don’t want to pay for another subscription service.
Reading these last several posts it is perplexing and such a conundrum. 3 owners of RAF. You have Izzy Martinez. You know he has nostalgia and wants to see some of these MMA guys that were great former wrestlers go against each other on the mat but now understands Father Time has gotten the best of’em. Woodley vs Hendricks 2 needs to be resolved. And I know he wants to see Jones. I still can’t get over Jones ‘super duck’ (pardon the pun) on Henderson in that grappling match.
Then you have the CEO Bronstein that is mainly interested in profits then who knows selling it. And of course you got Eric Bischoff that is the CMO that lusts over controversy coming from his former pro wrestling world. So he’s big into storyline and these pseudo brawls.
But brawls like that aren’t in wrestlings ideology. And it was cool to see how many younger future stars showed up last week.
I will say RAF has had a solid first year. All these media companies are craving sports content it seems. So many semi sports leagues from sports where after college that was it.
