Rampage easy
I think Randy is technically better..
But there are physical realities there.
Rampage at his peak was very very good, tough, powerful, and durable as hell.
He happened to run into the LHW GOAT of the time in Wandy (and his knees)-- otherwise he likely would have had a Pride belt.
Tend to agree.
And the striking isnāt only about technique.
Obviously itās all tied together.
But Rampage was just solid and a physically durable striker who could move forward and impose his will.
I remember Tito seemed to try and pick up on some of Rampageās blocking technique vs Chuck, and it just wasnāt there for him at all.
The best situation for Couture would be 3 rounds in a cage.
I think 5 rounds is a long time to avoid a serious exchange with peak Rampage.
Now Iām repeating myself lol..
Rampage used a good pressure defense style. I like it a lot. You usually only see that with longer guard styles like Strickland
Rampage did it with that high elbows guard he liked
He had a tight high guard and had some of the best countering with power and explosiveness.
His underhook game was solid too. He was able to land solid knees to his opponents midsection from that position. Look at his fights with Igor and Randleman.
Rampage was a beast in the clinch.
Strong as hell.
