No. 11-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Brendan Allen is stepping up on short notice to face surging Dutch contender Reinier de Ridder in the main event of UFC Vancouver on Sat., Oct. 18, 2025, inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
Allen, stepping into his fourth UFC main event spotlight, believes his mix of striking, toughness, and grappling will be too much for de Ridder when the cage door closes.
āI think Iāll break him because Iām better everywhere,ā Allen said in a video on his Instagram. āI donāt think he can strike better than me. I donāt think heās tougher than me. I donāt think his grapplingās better than mine. A lot of guys are scared of his grappling. Iām not scared at all. Heās pretty tough for a little while, but again, I donāt think heās fought anyone like me.ā
āI think Whittaker is kind of washed, to be honest,ā Allen added. āHeās never fought a young, hungry guy like me ā thatās just as big as him. I have a lot of respect for him for not hiding behind his number. He didnāt have to take this fight. Big respect to him.ā

Saturday, Dober (27-15 MMA, 13-11 UFC) has his sights first set on snapping that nasty three-fight skid when he takes on Kyle Prepolec (18-9 MMA, 0-3 UFC) on the prelims at UFC Fight Night 262 (ESPN+) at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
