Itâs not that she has crazy zingers. Itâs that Ronda is so angry and Kayla thinks the whole thing is funny. Itâs hard to hate Kayla, pretty easy to hate Ronda. Her retort was that she is chasing greatness and Ronda is chasing money. And itâs true. Ronda canât handle losses so she takes what she sees as the easiest fight for the most amount of money. Kayla is taking the hardest fights she can while making significantly less. Ronda is the one attacking her and sheâs just responding to itâŚitâs pretty funny to me that Ronda is so bitter over something Kayla couldnât care less about. Kayla wins on the microphone and in the cage.
I donât think Kayla is chasing greatness. I think sheâs chasing paydays too. I mean, she says her dream match is Ronda. Ronda is washed up, thatâs like when dudes were calling out Fedor in Bellator. That level of âgreatnessâ is not there anymore.

When Ronda was in her prime, she had lots of people to fight.
Kayla doesnât have the same luxury. Sheâs already killing herself to fight in the UFCâs biggest womenâs division, and there simply is such a lack of skill there that we are waiting for a retired legend to come back and fight her.
It is a different situation. If Ronda hadnât claimed brain injury she could be back in the UFC now fighting the ladies at 135. She chose to fight somebody who hasnât trained or fought in 15 years. Ronda has been active in wrestling and has been training, and isnât too far removed from her âprimeâ years as an athlete.
I donât know what you mean that âsheâs chasing paydaysâ. Of course she gets paid to fight. Of course she wants to fight Ronda because Ronda made womenâs MMA, and sheâs highly skilled, and they have history together. Why wouldnât she want to fight her? Sure she would get paid more for that fight, but shouldnât she? I donât see how thatâs chasing paydays. Ronda chased money by going to wrestling, now chasing Gina.
Even if Ronda was âwashedâ, Kayla wasnât even fighting in MMA when Ronda was around, so they couldnât have fought. What was she supposed to do, show up at Rondaâs house and challenge her? The same year Ronda alienated her fans and gave up on fighting because she lost, Kayla was busy training and winning an Olympic gold medal. Lol.
Kayla is probably everything Ronda wants to be and sheâs bitter about it.

You know whatâs worse than calling out Ronda in 2026? Calling out a 43 year old Gina Carano in 2026 who had been doing movies and TV for 15 years. By the way who also has never been a champion of any organization.
