The 2025 UFC schedule continues to fill out as UFC 312 adds another hometown matchup to the card.

On Sunday, MMA Fighting confirmed that Australian prospect Tom Nolan gets a home-country matchup when he faces Viacheslav Borshchev in a lightweight contest at UFC 312 on Feb. 9 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Marcel Dorff was the first to report the matchup.

Coming off the 2023 season of Contender Series, Nolan lost to Nikolas Motta in his promotional debut, but “Big Train” rebounded this year with wins over Victor Martinez and Alex Reyes in 2024.

A 2021 Contender Series signee, Borshchev has had an up-and-down career in the UFC, with an overall promotional record of 3-3-1. In 2024, “Slava Claus” went 1-1, losing to Chase Hooper in May, but he rebounded with a split decision win over James Llontop in August1

They’ll rob Strickland again just like the Cannonier fight and his first match with DDP. UFC clearly does not want Strickland as champ for the wild shit that he says. They almost didn’t even give him this rematch when even Dana thought Strickland beat DDP.

I like the style, age and hunger of both fighters. I can see either making the proper adjustments to win, but I do feel DDP won the first fight. I’d love for the Strickland who beat Adesayna come back

I think Strickland won the first fight and I think DDP knocks Strickland out in this fight via head kick. DDP has improved a lot and Strickland has not.

I have zero interest in watching Strickland. Nothing worse than someone that runs their fucking mouth and then goes pitter patter for 24 minutes and 50 seconds.
