He identified himself as “BLACK”, which is clearly a lie.

The screenshot is from Columbia’s internal records and how the school assorted the applicant data. The info was from a data dump following the school being hacked.
The actual student application said “Black or African-American”, which is what he checked, along with Asian.
NYT, which broke the story, has a screenshot of the student application.
Also, his test scores and grades must have been dogshit, given he was half a URM and had a parent working there and still got rejected. Interesting, since he attended Bronx Science which is a SHS and when he attended it required SHSAT so he clearly did well on the test to get into one of the top merit-based schools in the city.
