That was sad

I think it was several thing

Stipe was never that good imo. He reigned in an era where the stars were old. I dont think he beats a prime, Cain or even a prime JDS.

Jones is a special talent, he is at the end of his career and he has some of the best skills in the division.

Stipe was rattled by that ground and pound, it was very vicious. He might have been fucked in the head and not recovered

Ring rust was real.

Same. I pretty much just watch hand picked fights here and there nowadays. I could not imagine paying for this shit and watching entire cards live practically every weekend.

The sport peaked in the 00s and early 10s. We can never go back.

I don’t think Jon’s gonna fight Aspinall and if he did he definitely is going over to England to do it in Tom’s backyard. The challenger doesn’t get home advantage.

It would be epic for Tom but not for Jon. Jon try’s to be likeable. Going into enemy territory to fight a young up and comer in his time zone is giving way too many advantages away. If the UFC wants another Jones fight it will be on his terms only. Pereria in Vegas at heavyweight 9-12 months from now.

At this point have no problem waiting until the cards are available on ESPN plus to just watch. Reminds me, need to check out Pereira vs Roundtree still.

Once UFC went to ESPN/ABC all the “PPV” events should have moved to ABC broadcasts.

He might be off the ped’s. he’s got a natural looking 38 year old gym body

17 years of fighting and partying and it’s starting to look a bit like it.

He already looked slow before getting taken down. The ground and pound just cemented that he had zero chance of winning.

To be fair, when a champion moves up a division for legacy. They rarely ever start from the bottom and attempt to clean it out. they take advantage of key and favorable match-ups so that they CAN add to their legacy.

GSP, Anderson, Conor, and now Jones. Pereira has been fortunate there are no top-ranked wrestling-fighters in his way. He still needs to fight Ankalaev next. If nothing else, but to say he’s legitimately cleaned out the division.
