All I can say is its not for everyone. I personally love it. I exited the corporate world after 17 years to monetize my passions. Best decision I ever made in my life. I get paid to do the things I love. But it takes guts. I made a healthy 6 figure salary (not in the 100,000s, more) and I gave it up when my wife was pregnant to follow my dreams. It helps if youre single or have a good woman. Never looked back. On the brink of 2 huge deals that are life changers. fingers crossed

right now I run a business with a friend and we’re going on our 4th year. I get lots of free time with this job. 4 days a week are wide open. so I learn new things constantly.

one of the things Ive been learning is how to build high end electric guitars from scratch. and Im getting really good at them after building a dozen. so now Im tinkering with the idea of selling new builds on facebook marketplace or whatever to pocket an extra grand a month.

Stuff I have companies about:

  • Batteries and Energy Storage
  • Remote Controls
  • IoT / Smart Controls
  • Web Development Agency
  • Emergency Alert Systems
  • Media / Streaming Channel Licensing
  • Resellers Network to arm MSPs
  • Camgirls / Creator Directory

All are primarily in the B2B space, I don’t do B2C, and I need help.

“It’s not for everyone” is the hardest part for most people to understand. Almost everyone thinks that they can do it better than the guy they work for or the place down the street. Maybe they could, but there’s a million miles of shit to wade through just to get to the point where you can find out. It also takes a lot of money and discipline to get a business going. The number one reason small businesses fail is lack of capital. If you aren’t overly confident, stubborn, and self motivated don’t even waste your time trying to own a business.

Was not hard to get things going, I know A to Z for how to set things up and get a web presence with SEO.

I know my prospects, I know their problems, how to solve them, or how to give them a leg up on their competitors.

The different fields were from experience, and wanting to learn.

The problem is this summer is fuckin’ slow. Too many projects being reported as pushed back or not in the cards. Silly shit where companies have sent product specifications that we can meet and they sit on this until the end of the year and expect production to be instantaneous for their order that doesn’t meet MOQ that we are bending our backs over just to get their order secured.

Fun stuff. I usually have to wait on corporate decisions that take weeks to years to jig out while reciting Geto Boys’ Mind is Playing Tricks on Me:

Every single business owner I know personally thinks we are in a recession. My business is doing better than ever but that’s just because of a new product that is popular. I feel like if the economy wasn’t so bad we’d be doing even better. We normally sell to our clients monthly and every single time one has been out a few months they say they just couldn’t afford to buy even though they wanted to buy.
