I just counted and it’s actually an 8 fight losing streak going into the paddy fight total. Still pretty bad.
6 of those losses are from Ferguson himself, so I don’t feel it represents a complete picture of the level of competition, imo.

Don’t think Dana is going to push him into a title fight, yet. He’ll probably have him fight a really solid gate keeper first.
He’s only doing as well as he is, because he is the king of cutting weight. He lets himself get super fat between fights, and can try to maintain as much strength as he can when he cuts down, but eventually he won’t be able to do it. For a long term strategy, it’s actually horrible.
