I was shocked when I saw that Monfils had beaten him but was even more shocked to see him smash his racket like that.
Is that a first for him because I can’t remember him ever doing that before?
Not that I mind I think it’s hilarious to see players smashing their rackets I don’t know why crowds boo it.

Thought the conspiracy was about how quickly Novak recovered from the knee surgery and whether he even had it?

lol I was hoping the Sinner Zverev match would finish at a reasonable time but it’s suspended due to rain and it’s almost 11:30pm here in England.
As predicted it’s gone to a third set and as this isn’t a final I’m going to bed as it’s almost 1am here in the UK.
Hope Sinner gets to the final though!

Yeah was very strange to see that from Carlos.
Definitely have to give Nadal credit he never smashed his racket once in his professional career or at junior level.
I’m biased but this will always be my personal favourite racket smash! Was so surreal but hilarious at the same time when I saw it live.

These guys show up with probably 6 rackets in their bag.
And if you ain’t ever smashed one, maybe you don’t care enough about winning IMO.

Not good. But I’m rooting for him.
I just think it would mean way more to Tiafoe to win this match than it would to Sinner.
I don’t want to say slim and none. That’s not nice.
But it would be a huge upset if Tiafoe won.

Yeah the only thing that used to stop me smashing my racket was the fact that I only had one!
On grass I could throw the racket as a teenager without having to worry about any damage but obviously couldn’t do that on a hard court.
If I was rich enough not to care about ruining a $100+ racket I definitely would have though!

Yeah it’s going to be hard for Tiafoe especially as he only has one win over Sinner which I think came 2 or 3 years a go?
Wanted to ask as I wasn’t around at the Australian open. Do you think Sinner’s victory was legit? Or was he very lucky with Novak (allegedly) carrying a secret injury and Medvedev blowing his gas tank in the final after a record number of hours on the court in his previous 6 matches.

Good question. I’m not sure.
But Sinner’s best surface are the hard courts so he’s always going to be tough to beat there.
So I would say legit.
But he might have been a little lucky in the draw.
That Semi-final with Djokovic was one of the most unusual things I think have seen in the sport.
Novak has always been unbeatable from the AO semis onward with a perfect 10/10 record.
However he didn’t have a single break point against Sinner at all?
Yet in the biggest defeat of his entire career when he lost to Marat Safin at the Australian open 6-0,6-2,6-1 Djokovic had multiple break points in that match? So it doesn’t make any logical sense to me that he couldn’t get a single one against Jannick.
Highlight of that match for you below if you are interested. I remember watching it almost 20 years a go. Never ever ever thought for 1 minute that Djokovic would become he player he did lol.
