Unpopular opinion. I never understood the appeal of Usyk, think he’s a boring fighter. I have never been excited nor interested in a Usyk fight. Neither for Fury or Johsua for that matter.
HW boxing has been dead to me since Lennox Lewis retired, lol.
Some enjoy the sweet science. Some enjoy the Mexican styles, some enjoy the punch and hold styles etc.
I think it’s also me just getting old haha. I don’t watch the UFC anymore, boxing is relegated to just the fighters I find interesting; all of them in the lighter weights.
Yea I get it. You start to lose interest in things as you get older. You’re not heavily invested or want to spend the energy defending your favorites lol.
I have loved Usyk ever since he won Olympic gold in 2012. He is a supremely talented fighter. Top 20 HW of all time. Let’s see what he can do in his last fights to see if he can get in the top ten.

True. When I was in university, I spent countless hours on rec.sport.boxing (Usenet Usegroups) debating Lennox Lewis vs. Riddick Bowe. It was exhausting but I debated valiantly to support my Canadian brother at the time. Yes, “Chicken Bowe” threw the belt in the garbage to avoid fighting Lennox, who beat him at the Olympics years prior. Don’t get me started on that again! I recall that debate would go on for years with no side wanting to back down lol.
Ya, I’m not dogging his skillset or accomplishments, just never found him interesting or exciting that’s all. Maybe it’s just me.
