Grew up as a Star trek fan as a kid but have never watched all the modern ones like Discovery, Picard or Strange new worlds as they are too woke and just look generally shit anyway.
However was watching a youtube video which referenced this scene from Strange new worlds and it isn’t a spoof or a joke but it is now canon and was actually part of a regular episode.

I still remember when Strange new worlds first came out some Star trek fans were claiming it was a positive move back to the classic trek formula and the best series since the last two seasons of Enterprise in the early 2000’s.
Those words have clearly not aged well…
