So I sat right behind all the fighters at 313. First Iām amazed by how small everyone at 145 and under is in person. I mean, Volkanovski is seriously no bigger than Merab or Kape. They all sat together and they are all extremely small. I canāt believe how well volkanovski fought Islam, truly impressive. Stephen Thompson sat right in front of me with his dad and they are genuinely good people. Just very down to earth and humble. Bryce Mitchell was just to my left and heās actually quite big for 145. The fighting nerds taunted him for a while and heās going to be pretty emotional fighting Jean Silva. Heās either going to walk into a huge punch or maul Silva on the ground. Speaking of the fighting nerds, Carlos Prates is huge. I was really surprised. He also drank at least 8-10 beers during the few hours he was there. lol pretty funny considering he fights in 4 weeks. Paddy Pimblett is very big for a lightweight. Not very friendly but I imagine he gets shit talked by stupid fans quite a bit.
Zuckerberg came over and talked to a bunch of the fighters and they basically lined up to kiss his ass lol. So Iām guessing it pays well to be his friend lol. Merab wore him out and I had to laugh because he probably has double Merabās IQ and as you would expect Merab wouldnāt shut up.
Probably the highlight for me was Don Frye sat just to the right of me. Just an absolute legend and hero of mine when I first started training. I didnāt chat him up because I didnāt want anything to spoil my view of him. The only current fighter that came over and paid respects to him was Michael Johnson. I was surprised by that.
Gaethjeās whole family was beside us and they were really nice people. Very nervous during his fight. Relieved when it was over
King Greenās wife and friends were on the other side of the walkout area from us and they looked genuinely scared when that kick landed. His wife ran out immediately. I felt pretty bad for them.
I got to meet Chuck Liddell and that was cool. He looks to be pregnant lol. Cool guy
Didnāt get to meet Mel Gibson but was close to him all evening. Would have loved to have met him. Same for Theo Von lol
Overall a great time and Iām really glad to have had the opportunity to go with my son.

Making excuses already. Magomed will beat him worse in the rematch. Iād prefer to skip a rematch and go Magomed vs Jiri next in July
The rematch would be interesting, imo. Ankalaev stated his gameplan was wait to be stalked then counter-attack, but then realized that Alex wasnāt maintaining much forward movement, so he changed up the game-plan and pressured Alex instead. Itāll be interesting to see the roles reversed.
