UFC 6 - Video Game

From Google AI:

Ken Shamrock is generally expected to be much more viable and dominant at Light Heavyweight (LHW) than at Heavyweight (HW) in EA Sports UFC 6. [1]

While his base grappling, submission offense, and explosive stats carry over across weight classes, the meta and physical matchups make Light Heavyweight his ideal home: [2]

  • Size and Reach Disadvantage at HW: At Heavyweight, Shamrock (6’1" with a 72.5-73 inch reach) faces massive frame disadvantages against giant meta heavyweights like Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall, or Brock Lesnar. At Light Heavyweight, his size and reach are perfectly average, meaning you won’t constantly be struggling to close the distance.
  • Speed is King for Grapplers: Shamrock’s primary strategy relies on explosive takedowns and building the new “Flow State” meter. At Light Heavyweight, his speed and agility are heightened relative to the division, allowing you to easily react to strikes, time your double-legs, and transition smoothly on the ground.
  • The LHW Strength Advantage: At 205 lbs, Shamrock’s “prime-era” raw strength stats make him an absolute bully. He can easily out-muscle and throw around standard light heavyweights, whereas huge heavyweights can occasionally use their size attributes to deny his takedowns or stuff his clinch entries. [2, 3, 4, 5]

If you want to play a highly competitive, fast-paced grappling game where you can completely ragdoll your opponents, Light Heavyweight is his best division. Use Heavyweight primarily for fun legacy matchups or if you want an extra challenge against the division’s giants.

If you’re referring to me, I was talking about the Undisputed boxing game in reference to fighting with career mode characters from 2 different accounts.

Fedor is in it?

Makes sense for Couture.

For Ken, not as much.

My biggest gripe is the skill issue across the board. All these games have almost the same control. That’s more than 6 generations of gamers playing this crap vs someone just getting started.

Makes MORE sense for Couture but even then… Couture was awesome at heavyweight.

Hopefully the AI is wrong, or that the developers make changes. They can always rebalance the fighters.

Couture and Shamrock are flagship fighters in this game. They are the biggest part of the Deluxe Edition. They should be strong both at LHW and HW. Hopefully that’s the case.

I’m tempted to pre-order the Deluxe Edition. I can feel the pull.

Me too.

Any other 90s era fighters?

Also, why does a UFC game have Fedor?

He was in one of the other ones also. EA sports has the rights to Fedor, Couture etc. they were featured in an mma game back in the day. Fedor is them trying to get people to buy the game lol. Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson have been used in these games as well

Oh ok.

Hopefully they don’t underrated him out of spite.

I hope it has Ken’s leg scissor takedown.

UFC bought Pride and Strikeforce.

Fedor was in the last UFC game.

I think the only 90s fighters confirmed at this point are Couture, Shamrock, Tito, and Liddell, but there will be others for sure.

@Onepunch you’ll be happy to know that Fedor was a beast in the last game. I think he and Jones will be the best heavyweights in this new game.

Fedor is in UFC 5

That would be awesome and there’s a decent chance that he will. One of the exciting things about this new UFC game is that the fighters are less generic and they are much more tailored to look and behave like themselves, with unique moves and animations, I believe.

So, Ken should look, move, and fight like Ken, which is awesome.

That’s good.

LOL at Jones being the best HW.

Ken will have a lot of cool matchups because he had a lot of cool rivalries. Ken vs Tito is awesome. Royce will probably be in the game, and that’s obviously a legendary rivalry. In fact, that is the first legendary UFC rivalry.

I hope they keep them coming and go more old-school.

I want to see guys like Severn, Tank, Oleg, Frye, Coleman, Ruas, Kimo, Goodridge, etc.

I always wanted to see Keith Hackney vs Pat Smith.
Would be cool if they went that deep into it.
I won’t get my hopes up though..

That’s great.

It’s about time.
