Good old slamcock
i went to ufc 51
Ken hated Tito and truly believed he would do better in a rematch. In interviews he said his knee was messed up in the first fight and now he’s stronger than ever. Tito completely overpowered him in all 3 fights.
Kenny was gold at the time brought more eyes to the sport
Back in those days, there was a bunch of ug ers who were comvinced that tiger white , the kotc champ. Would wreck ken , tito and maybe even chocolate al
Vernon Tiger White was from the Lions Den and he was much more than some scrub from KOTC
I remember vernon tiger white vs chuck! First time i ever questioned the legitimacy of the fights. Vernon went down and supposed to be out, chuck went to give him another punch but the ref got there and stopped him. If you watch closely you can vernon cover his face as hes laying on the ground. Seemed really weird. Maybe he was kinda out but not completely?
Lol. I didnt call him a scrub. Eric Pele, my boy, was their heavyweight champ. Love me some Big E!
Vernon White fought in Pancrase before UFC 1!
Thumb to the eye, if I can remember correctly
I was there for the event. The venue was empty for Genki’s fight. People didn’t appreciate that matchup nearly enough. He was two levels above Brown who was no slouch.
Just looked up the video. Doesnt seem quite as weird rewatching it. I just remember thinking if he is unconscious how does he know to cover his face? Skip to 7min 18 sec.
E is a cool dude. Wayyyy chill.
We once went plate for plate in a battle for the ages at the Rio buffet. The dumps were tremendous
Absolutely. I’d argue Brown was a stud and a very tough match up for anyone. Genki was really something else. His fight with Butterbean is like a fever dream but I’m so happy I got to see it. I remember working overnight and reading about it by hitting refresh every few seconds on the old UG on NYE!
Ah the days of refresh-for-results:rofl:
Was that the spinning side kick of doom?
David Terrell was a fucking menace!
Oh yeah. I remember her doing post fight interviews. She was around during the early-mid 2000’s era. Willa Ford was did the first season of TUF announcing team challenges, etc. I also remember when Juliette Lewis was at almost every event during this time frame. She always looked like she was having a blast in the crowd.
Kerri Kasem used to do a radio show called Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx, but that’s been years ago at this point. Not sure what she’s up to now.
You’re not kidding. He was an amazing talent. I remember him losing to Vernon White early in his career, then going on a tear. I thought he would for sure win the middleweight title at some point, but he just vanished from the sport. I believe it was due to a series of injuries.
