“When it comes to the Treasury Department’s latest General License, “This is not a lifting of any sanctions - it simply extends a general license that was previously in place,” explained Brad Brooks-Rubin, a former senior adviser in the Office of Sanctions Coordination at the State Department from 2022 to 2024.”
This is really bad. It’s the concern that Trump won’t just end new support, but withhold deliveries approved by the previous Congress. It sends a clear signal to Kremlin to ignore any performative peace appeals by Trump. The war will continue and more Ukrainians will die. The increase in stockpile will have the opposite effect - it’ll make China view American will as weakened.
Yeah, very much so. Azerbaijan steam rolled Armenia, with indirect support from Turkey, and Russia did fuck all to prevent it.
This is a separate issue, based on the weird geographical solution to the break up of USSR.
That Russia wasn’t involved in this diplomatic work is a clear indication how disillusioned Armenia is with Russia and how much influence Russia is losing in its near region.
