"Undisputed" Boxing Game

I gotta play it some more to see if even like the game first. I only bought it so I got something to go against my brothers and nephew when they come over

That’s like $30 USD, too. Huge bargain.

I just changed divisions from LHW to Cruiser Weight in career mode.

Be careful of the reviews you read.
Check the dates.
There are a lot of negative reviews I’ve seen that were in the early stages when the game was first released.

That said, I posted my gripes about career mode above.
It’s definitely something they could have done better IMO.
But I’m still playing it.

I pussed out, going to request a refund for it. I just find it too difficult and also a bit nauseating. I created a career and fought 2 fights, losing both but I was getting dizzy as the camera keeps panning around non stop guess I’m just not used to it.

I don’t think this game is for me, I’ll stick to my NBA 2k and Assetto Corsa sims where I’m much more comfortable with.

Seems like the learning curve is pretty steep and I just don’t have the time to invest into it.

While you both have good points..
Here is something I noticed.

The package I got today includes 4 different upgrades for $37.

The new “Champions” package is $40 – includes the update I got today – along with the actual game.

I bought this game about a week before Christmas, and just had to spend $37 for that upgrade.
I’m ok with spending that on the upgrade in an isolated incident.

HOWEVER, it is kind of a ripoff that the entire game + this upgrade is currently $40.
Unless I’m missing something, that’s the deal.

So I could have waited a couple weeks and basically got the game and these upgrades as a complete package for half the price.

While I understand this…

Previous games like Fight Night and Knockout Kings came with bigger more complete rosters on the initial purchase.

I don’t know the reason it’s taking Undisputed longer to get the historic fighters.
Maybe it’s not their fault.
But bang-for-the-buck the games I mentioned above were more complete the day you bought it.

Just saying.

Yes I got it today.

Stay tuned ..

We’ve had it exactly a week and I’m 20-2-2 in career mode, with at least a couple dozen exhibition wars my son and I have fought.

To each his own.

If you read my review above you’ll see I have a lot of complaints.
But I think if we stick with it it will ultimately be worth it.

@Canooke

.

So I got the update package deal today that included 4 different updates.
So I got the one with Chavez, Pacquiao, and Ali '64, along with the Vlad/Vitali package, another Canelo, RJJ '93, etc.

Pre BBQ battles with my son:

So I jump on and pick Ali '64, and my kid tries to throw a monkey wrench into my plans by picking original Ali LOL!
And what a fight!
I ended up winning by KO in round 11 after we each had 2 knockdowns and I got the third.
It was kind of ridiculous fighting almost the same fighter – but also a fun test.

Next fight l, my Kid AGAIN flips my plan by picking Vitali!
I didn’t think he would do that, and was looking forward to trying Vitali, but he was quicker on the draw.
Took me a minute to decide who to use – and I thought Vlad would be silly – so I went with Larry Holmes.
Fight started off competitive, but he managed to knock me down 3 times in the last 2 rounds for a lop-sided victory.
Interesting fight though, and one I’d like to revisit.

The third one was the real test…

Went with Lightweight, and I instantly picked Chavez, to which he responded by picking Pacquiao!

Pacquiao is fucking amazing.
Almost reminds me of Usyk in that he’s almost too smooth and too fast.

First round he knocks me (Chavez) down with a body shot while I was rocked.
Rocked me several more times in the first 3 rounds and knocked me down again near the end of the third.
It really seemed like he had my number with Pacquiao, and I was not happy at all.
4th round I new something had to change, so I took a different approach – and it paid off.
I started rocking Pacquiao frequently, even though I wasn’t really matching the punch output.
Managed to score 3 knockdowns in 3 rounds, the last one being a slick KO on a badly head-damaged Pacquiao!

So I beat my son 2/3 fights with the new expansion pack.

It was a good day.

Now time to smoke some steaks!

Chavez is one of my all-time favorites.

I don’t care what anyone says, peak Chavez beats De La Hoya!

Glad you and your son are having fun with it. Glad you bought the full roster. It’s a lot of awesome additional fighters. Glad you beat Manny with JCC. That’s my next fight.

Have either of you tried LaMotta at middleweight yet?

I used him once. Don’t remember if it MW or LHW though.
It was one of the first days we had the game so it’s kind of a blur.

Middle weight is stacked at the top!

If you count the 2 versions of Ray Leonard and Canelo, there’s 10 options ranked 90 or greater.

It was a hell of a comeback because he was dominating the first couple rounds.
Pac is fast.

Yeah, the middleweight roster is awesome. Lots of legends, lots of more contemporary fighters. Tons of 90 overalls as you said, and the top dog is RJJ and he’s a 91 so that’s not an unfair matchup against the 90 overall fighters.

On paper it looks like the best division in the game. Welterweight and heavyweight are awesome too, though I’m not sure how balanced welterweight is now since Pacquiao was added.

Changing the subject slightly. I think it’s a really good sign that they added Pacquiao to the roster recently. That probably cost Steel City a decent amount of money, relative to other signings. Manny is a great addition to the game, and it suggests that Steel City is working and willing to spend, in order to get more big name fighters.

Heavyweight is really good.
IMO a lot of the guys rated in the high 80s are very good.

Riddick Bowe for example, at his peak is a tough fight for anyone. IMO they under rated him. Maybe they will come out with a peak version like they did with Leonard and a couple other guys.

I think you’re right about guys with a high 80s rating. They are good and viable.

Here’s my first fight in a few weeks and my first fight against Pacquiao. Forgive the long pause. Just skip through that part.

Now that you have some experience with the game you can judge my play better, for better or for worse.

Im glad I didn’t waste any money on any of the roster scams. This game sucks

The game is good.

However, it seems like there is no way to transport a fully developed created/career fighter to a local exhibition fight.
I’ve looked online and read different forums, and no luck so far.

For some reason it will let you do it when you first create them and the boxer is a 55 overall, which makes no sense.

Now I’ve taken the time to develope a boxer from 55 overall to 92 overall and he’s the undisputed cruiserweight champion.
But I can’t import him to either use against real fighters or against someone else’s created fighter.

This is a huge problem for us because having multiple created fighters to compete against each other was the main reason for getting the game.

I have a hard time believing developers don’t realize people would want to do this – so it kind of feels like a “fuck you” to the customer.
