US records first budget surplus in 20 years

Yes the costs of goods will go up. And so will wages when American companies can now compete in a more balanced marketplace. This is especially true if the other primary force keeping wages suppressed (ie illegal imitation) is also removed.

Trump is effectively creating a middle class and it really seems to bother all you college educated elitists.

How the hell is college education elitist? Social mobility is part of the American Dream.

It bothers me that the cost of living will go up for everyone, while tariff increased wages will affect a few. It bothers me that a lot of Americans who support tariffs don’t seem to realize how they work.

If a balanced market place is the target, then the focus should be China and there should be an aligned Western front against them. When you go after Canada, the UK and the EU you shrink the market place and you increase costs for everyone.

Supporting a federal sales tax on the middle and working class to afford a tax decrease for the rich is elitist as hell to me.

ppl buying cheap chinese made crap should be paying taxes rather than ppl getting taxes taken from their income

tariffs are a consumption tax ppl, particularly on overseas goods, that is a much more approriate tax than an income tax. If you dont want to pay tariffs buy american

I’ve been saying it for weeks now. Suddenly the msm is headlining articles in the same friendly way they do when a democrat is in office. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s happened in the past month or so that would influence such a thing

I hate and don’t trust Scott Bessent because he worked for George Soros and helped him devalue currencies in Europe.

those are also who are helped most in the long term when factories are brought to the US. Seems like every month I hear about some foreign factory opening up in a rural, poor part of my state eaten up with fentanyl.

Again - the cost of living will go up for everyone, while tariff increased wages will affect a few… When you go after Canada, the UK and the EU you shrink the market place and you increase costs for everyone.

Again everyone is acknowledging your concern.

By bringing back factories and other industry through tariffs, the large percentage of americans who have a highschool education or less will be able to work jobs that provide will provide a livable wage.

This used to be shit democrats understood before they became politcaly correct elitists.
