Usman or Hughes as all time WW?

Yes, and GSP was not nearly in his prime when Hughes beat him.

GSP was one of the GOAT champions of any sport and a fantastic ambassador for MMA.

Then Hughes

Legacy wise its Hughes. He was more of a pioneer being one of the earliest guys you could point to and be like ā€œsee! MMA has actual high skilled pro athletes!ā€

He was one of the first truly great MMA fighters.

I haven’t heard anything about BJ in a while. Is he getting better?

I think he might be doing better for know of we’d all be hearing about it. I’m hope he doesn’t end up killing someone. I’d be terrified if BJ thought I replaced his parents or was trying to steal his money

Not that I can see. Hopeful though.

Rich kid that didn’t even have to do MMA for money, just did it for the love of the game. You won’t see another lightweight fight someone of Machida’s caliber at an open weight fight.

Guy was a fucking killer in the cage, I hope he never becomes a killer outside of it. Hopefully he’s getting better, he was my GOAT back in the day.

(Also, he got robbed against Frankie in their first fight. I’ll die on that hill)

Last year he was getting arrested once a month. Things haven’t popped up in a while and just totally dropped off.

Fingers crossed that no news = good news.

Pele or Anderson Silva for me.

If I remember Dan Henderson was pretty lethal at WW as well.

WW that he fought at wasn’t 170 lbs though

Easy to out strike someone with T Rex arms!

Dave Menne won that big tournament over most of the top guys at that weight in Kuwait as well.

That’s where Pele KO’d Hughes?

Yes, that’s right. What an event that was!

Lotta stars of the day in that tournament.
