I’ve been watching kickboxing and MT fights for donkey’s years and have never seen anyone break someone’s knee with his shin. We NEED more of MVP.

He switches weight classes almost every fight. Top guys probably don’t consider him a feather in their cap in either division. That’s my assumption for why he’s getting the most random fights.

the complete opposite of stand and trade

he unfortunately is not exciting no matter how good he is at what he does

And this is where the rankings are odd

He’s had one fight at MW - Shara Bullet, who was ranked #14 at the time

So naturally MVPs now ranked 8th at MW

A little of both.

He wanted to be at 170, but had no status there to entice ranked opponents.

So he took the Shara fight at 185 (was actually expected to be a ridiculously good fight at the time). Won. Still wanted to be at 170. Still no status at 170.

So he took Cannonier at 185 (Cannonier was top 10 at the time). Won. Ranked at 185 now. Still wanted to be at 170. Still no status at 170.

Then took whatever opponent he could get at 170 (Sam Patterson).

(All 3 of these fights were dogshit btw, which hurt his marketability and status even more.)

Now seems to be embracing the 185 rank and plans to stay there.

0 UFC finishes. Hell, I don’t even remember him dropping an opponent in one of his UFC fights. He’s been playing it super safe in the UFC, and it’s been super boring.

Or his age has caught up to him and he’s unlikely to get sniff a title shot at this point.

Seems to me he doesn’t get more fights because he fights super safe and makes his opponents look like shit. And really hurts them.

Broke one guys knee. Broke another’s skull.

Extremely likely you look like shit against him or get a bad injury from him, yet you gain little by beating him because he’s not a champ.
