Who took over the Other/Underground, what did they do and why?
Hi faggot. Open your eyes and read. We got fucked by little AsiaAustralian dicks
surprisingly accurate summary ^
That’s the executive brief version for sure!
The one thing that sucks is that anyone who is on a hiatus from the OG will come back one day and never figure out how to find this place. They will just go WTF happened to everyone?
I was gone for a few years before jumping back in, and I just typed in MMA.tv to find it.
I bet Alta doesn’t give a fuck about that URL btw, I wonder if it’s obtainable?
Kirik sold the og (all of mixedmartialarts.com) to Alta in november of 2023. Shortly thereafter, several members of the alta group engaged to pacify fears of censorship and otherwise hostile takeover. Richard Chou did an interview on Lytes Out specifically addressing this and assuring there would be no censorship.
Then, they decided the OG was too notty to be available to the entire internet (and web crawlers, and advertisers), so they made it private. Only users with accounts and specific permission could access it.
Then about a week ago, out of the blue, they nuked all of the mods. Just suspended them, and/or stripped them of mod power.
Zero communication.
While everyone was trying to figure out what was happening, they started suspended individual user accounts one at a time for the reason of “.” They further started nuking and/or hiding most threads on both forums that they didnt like. They also implemented a very dumb, very strict censorship bot that flags any posts with any iteration of a litanny of wrongspeak. So, for instance, a post containing the word “shoe” would get flagged and deleted because of the word “ho.”
It was later revealed that they did all of this with no heads up the day before a call with shareholders, in the midst of a catastrophic stock value plunge.
Mommy and daddy were coming to visit and they had to clean up the house. But they couldnt delete the accounts, because the number of users is part of their grossly overstated marketing lie to their investors. So they just suspended hundreds/thousands of them.
The UG and OG are now barren wastelands. Their fight card thread last night had ~100 posts. The fight card thread here on this ad-hoc, risen-from-the-ashes OnlyGround had over 1000.
Oh, and they doxxed everyone’s account if those users used their real name 20 years ago when they signed up. Super professional!
Alta is faggot, Richard Chou is coward with micropeen.
@RonysTorresIceBag Thats the best summary I’ve seen…maybe that should be stickied somewhere
I checked a couple days ago. They have mixedmartialarts.com registered for like a decade, but mma.tv is up on like new years eve or jan 31 of 2025 or something. Im sure theyll renew it, but believe you me i have an atomic alarm set to go off 5 minutes before it expires so i can take a swing at it.
sorry we ever tried to welcome them
how exactly did they doxx everyone? what was exposed, where, to whom and for how long?
Pretty good summary. One thing about the doxxing, it was not on purpose. They were trying to change some of the modifications the old admins/mods had made, and they changed a setting back to default which then exposed the “real name” of users when the first signed up. They were super slow to fix it.
Names were displayed on user profiles, real names if users signed up with them. Later, the names were displayed under user names on all posts users had ever made.
It was probably like that for a day or so before the Altatards fixed it.
No, the real names are still accessible.
I just had someone look up my original lurker account yesterday to see if it’s still alive (I forgot the password years ago).
It is, and he DM’d me asking if the name associated was mine.
Luckily I have never given a real name and the real Dick Chickens is gonna hate what I’ve done to his good name.
Also, why are you sweeping alta’s shit under the rug? Go back to that gay forum, only real faggots are allowed here, homo.
Wow…Alta is going to get fucked in lawsuits if they are still doxxing people.
My account was anonymized but what a kick in the balls for people who used their real name and still have it leaked on that site.
Yeah not sure where it exists, but the dude was able to find it in less than 10 minutes of me asking.
Had to laugh when they suspended me. It was fast and furious!
That is a great welcome. I did not say anything good about Alta.
What I do know is that the show name function is a default setting of the software. They changed a setting back to default, BOOM, names started showing up. I thought it was fixed, but I may be wrong.
