When I was a young man I used to say shit like āYou can never go back home.ā I think I was trying to hint at the personal growth and development that happens to a person over time and how lifeās complexities prevent you from ever really really returning to the way things were. Or perhaps that these nostalgic memories are overly idealized and the home that you pine for never really actually existed.
Now that Iām a little bit wiser I like to think that āHome is where Iām at.ā Home isnāt really a physical location or a moment in time, itās a mental state where I feel comfortable and content.
This feeling of comfort can come from a sense of belonging or being among people who share similar values, interests, or experiences. It can be a community, a social group, or even a virtual space where individuals feel connected and accepted. It can be here, this place can be our new homeland.
Welcome home, brother.

The old OG there has been permanently hidden. Those who can still get in are allowed to post only once every three days. They killed it without actually removing it. The new OG is heavily moderated with no cuss words of any type being allowed. And people are still getting banned (albeit at a slower rate) or frozen for three months at a time. Itās easier to rebuild a new city elsewhere than it is going back to one that had a nuke dropped on it.

For maybe the first 24-48 hours I was holding on to the idea that it was either a huge mistake or a malicious third party. I expected that I would try to log back in the next day and it would be like nothing happened.
