Thanks man. Did you know that my old one on the og OG was Sagat’s knee?
Unfortunately…
I do remember that SN, but if I ever made the connection I have forgotten by now.
It was subtle.
It’s called tough love.
I’m likely much more patriotic than the average American.
But sometimes you need to fall and skin your knee to realize you were doing it wrong.
I don’t want to elaborate much more because this isn’t the thread for it.
I’ve never liked LeBron.
Now Curry is on my shit list, so fuck him too.
And fuck Draymond for thinking a universe exists where he is the best defender ever.
I mean, he’s obviously a great defender.
But the best ever?
LOL
Good grief.
What did Curry do recently that makes you not like him? I’m guessing it’s Olympics related, but I haven’t been following the Olympics much.
We can give you different looks. Because Curry loved and modeled his game after Reggie Miller and… STEVE NASH! But I’ll definitely let Jokic do plenty of creating from the high and low post. The ball will move pretty well.
He “endorsed” Kamala during a press conference or something prior to the Olympics.
Pretty sure Kerr backed him on it.
I don’t want to get political here, but fuck that.
And I realize there are probably many pro athletes who are similarly retarded – but keep it to yourself IMO.
Take a lesson from the GOAT:
“Republicans buy sneakers too”.
Didn’t MJ endorse Bill Bradley?
I want to see how Onepunch reacts if Pippen endorses Elizabeth Warren.
I know he played a basketball game with Obama. Not sure if he gave an endorsement.
In the original thread people seemed to like the “Eras” concept I proposed and the last draft we did for the Bad Boys/Badder Bulls Era was a blast. So curious who people in here think would be each Era’s All-Time Team. These are broken down to cover the NBA since I was alive (and a little bit before). Eras range from 5 seasons to 8 seasons. Each has a distinct feel to it. Will recap, by memory. The names might not be exactly the same from when I did this before.
Era One- The Magic/Bird or Showtime Era.
This starts with the 79/80 season through the 86/87 season. As the name suggest this was dominated by the Lakers and Celtics. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were the face of those teams along with the NBA. The Lakers won four titles, the Celtics won three, and the Sixers had a championship run for the ages. Each finals match up was a combination of four teams; The Lakers (6), Celtics(5), Sixers (3), and Rockets (2). As for this Era’s team lets consider this.
Center- Moses Malone or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem won his final regular season MVP to start this era along with a Finals MVP. A perennial All Star. Moses had two regular season MVP’s, a Finals MVP, constant All Star, and took the Rockets to the Finals.
Power Forward- Does Larry Bird go here or Small Forward? Kevin McHale if Bird is Small Forward?
Small Foward- If Bird is the Power Forward, who goes here? Off the top of my head other candidates might be James Worthy, Dr. J (even though he was probably better in the 70’s), or even scoring machine Adrian Dantley? Cedric Maxwell was Finals MVP for the Celtics first championship too.
Point Guard- Its gotta be Magic. Any other contenders?
Shooting Guard- Even with three seasons Michael Jordan did enough to go here.
Will pause between eras for discussion and then proceed once things die down. Seems the thing to hash out for this one is Center, and where Bird goes.
I have Kareem as the greatest center all-time and the second greatest player all-time behind only Jordan.
That said, for this specific era, it’s Moses Malone.
Kareem was still great and the #2 center of that era, capable of turning it up when facing other great centers in big games.
But overall this is the era his points and rebounds started to drop.
Meanwhile Moses was good for consistent high-20s scoring, with 2 MVPs, and he led the league in rebounds 5 times in this era.
If I was really making this era’s super team, I would use both Moses and Kareem as twin towers.
Bird at the 3, McHale coming off the bench at the 4.
Magic and Jordan 1/2.
.
.
.
Though if you take Jordan out and use Bird at the 4 it gets interesting.
Bird played most of this era at the 4, and one of his 3 consecutive MVPs he’s listed as a 4.
Alex English actually scored the most points of any player in the 80s, and led the league in scoring once.
George Gervin is probably a better fit in the prior era, but still led the league in scoring twice in this era, and could play either the 2 or the 3.
Dantley averaged 30+ 4 seasons in a row, which was good enough to lead the league in scoring twice this era.
Wilkins was coming in at the end of this era, leading the league in scoring once.
And of course Dr. J had an MVP in this era.
Plenty of talent at the 3.
At the 2 I would probably go with Sidney Moncrief after Jordan, because of his elite defense and all-around game.
2 time DPOY in this era.
At the 1 it has to be Magic, but Isiah Thomas is the clear second choice IMO.
This reminds me of our 80s draft.
My team:
- Fat Lever
- George Gervin
- Alex English
- Karl Malone
- Kareem
BN. Ralph Sampson
Sampson coming off the bench gives me another 7 footer for a “twin towers” lineup, and possible HUGE front court with Malone moving to the 3.
What a team!
Liking the Idea of
Kareem
Moses
Bird
Magic
MJ
Don’t forget McHale off the bench.
Would be a ridiculous team.
Get your Pippen loving ass in here!!
It would be great to get Dangerboy12 in here.
