wasnt sure on first name i didnt know he had brother.Otto seemed pretty friendly with him in above video

there are 3 Nutter brothers…

all of them Greco kids that either went to or are currently at NMU and teammates with Max and now Otto…

max is pretty good chums with the two older ones…

lots of respect between the two families…

Are they related to Nick Nutter, the Ohio guy who wrestled there with Mark Coleman?

the Nutter kid who beat Otto is he considered to best of the 3 ? have your sons wrestled the Raneys ? they getting pretty hyped up..NOne of the Nutter kids wrestle college ? just greco ? how many kids are doing that who are top level ?

the oldest one who otto wrestled in the finals would be the most accomplished and a full grown man… he was a U20 bronze so not a chump…

all 3 Nutters have focused entirely on greco and all three have or are attending NMU…

otto used to practice with the raney’s at camps several years before he outgrew them… the Raney’s were not competitive with him then… their greco technique is very basic… they are just phenomenal wrestlers overall and that has up to this point hid their greco deficiencies… the one who is our senior rep still has not wrestled a true senior, so, i am anxiously awaiting that…

as far as how many kids are just focusing on greco who would be considered top level coming out of HS…

it is really hard to say…

there are several that definitly could have wrestled D1…

obviously otto…

max was not recruited very hard because of his ā€œcharacterā€ issues coming out of HS but he could have wrestled D1… max only went to Fargo two years and has 2 free AAs and one Greco championship…

i think benji peak had the talent to wrestle D1 but he chose greco at about 15ish…

Landon Drury is a freshman at NMU and he won several state titles in folk…

Payton Jacobsen is max’s age and did not have many folk accolades or even greco accolades until just recently when he finally figured it out… was our olympian last year… senior world team member this year and gold at pan ams… talent wise he definitely could have wrestled D1…

Kamal Bey was probably the most athletic wrestler regardless of style this country has ever seen… he has a bit of an interesting background and came up rough in chicago and chose greco very early… still the US only U20 Greco World Gold ever…

Tracy Hancock almost the exact same scenario as Bey, but, out of Colorado… the US last Greco World medal with a bronze a few years ago…

there might be a few others…

Interesting tidbit i noticed last night…

Mannville won the US Open U20 greco at 67kg… that puts him sitting in the best 2 out of 3 finals next week…

i noticed last night he is signed up at 63kg…

i have no clue if this is a mistake or if he understands his only chance to realistically make a team is dropping out of Otto’s weight class…

i can not imagine him making that weight, but, if he misses and it really doesn’t change the outcome much…
