I know Gable Steveson isn’t going to lose in the finals this year, I’ll bet $1000 on it.
safest bet of all time…
you really know your wrestling!!!

aight…
our guy PJ and KAZ to see who wrestles for bronze…
good hand fight in the center… neither establishing control yet…
ref getting on PJ for stepping o nthe feet…
PJ with a good drag attempt… still has the 2-1 and ref calling for KAZ action…
PJ gets him put dowen first… 1-0 PJ
PJ struggling to get his lock… does get a lift late but can not step over the base for the angle…
back up in a over under 50/50… PJ staying strong…
that is the way the first ends… 1-0 PJ
kaz coming out fiestry… PJ immediately responds and takes him across the mat…
they put PJ down early… 1-1 PJ on criteria 2:30
KAZ wants injury time… crowd giving it to him… mostly my meat heads i hear in the backgorund…
PJ defending well early but KAZ gets the lift and takes him over for the feet to back exposure and now 5-1 KZ…
PJ tries deep drag…
action pciking up on the feet… 1:30 left
PJ trying to get to the hop… KAZ blocking off well… 30 seconds
PJ tries to jump high on front head… justy nothing doing…
KAZ with a 5-1 win and PJ out…
final medal matches of a long week and a half…
the gold match at 67kg is the premier match of the entire tourney…
Jafarov of AZE and Esmaili of Iran…
straight fukn killers…
man…
eriomenco picks up his first senior world medal…
otto wrestled him in croatia in february and got a little big brothered 4-0 but didn’t give up anything other than step outs… right before that tourney was when he first sprained his ankle which he has been fighting all season…
sprained it back before U20 worlds and ruined his run… resprained it again last week in croatia training… need to get him healthy before U23 worlds in Serbia next month…
regardless, good for eriomenco… that kid has an edge to him… but that is pretty typical for moldovia…
ciobanu is just a dirty nastry person… the adopted viking son from the netherlands had to fight him on the mats just because he got a TD on him in practice…

jafarov is the first to defend esmeaili par terre offense all tourney… no one has made it out the first…
esmeaili ends up with the 2-1 win after a hard fought match with jafarov…
he won olympic gold last year at 21 and his first senior world gold this year at 22…
hard to argue he is not the #1 P4P wrestler on this planet in either greco or the women’s style…
what a fukn hammer…
been chatting with a couple of chums this morning…
we all agree there were a ton of positives to be taken from this tourney for USA greco no matter what you might here the nerds who only watch once a year claim…
we had 6 athletes actually win matches…
4 pulled back in to repechage…
3 of those guys actually won repechage matches and one win away from wrestling for a medal…
on the surface that might sound lame, but, when you consider how much more competitive international greco is than free and our past performances for the last couple of quads this is actually an improvement…
we move onto U23s next month where we have 6 athletes who have a legitimate chance to win medals…
raney, max, otto, beka, jacobsen, and attao… 5 age level medals in that group
me being the eternal optimist i am actually excited for the program…
final thought…
i went super nerdy because i am in a bit of a wrestling hangover…
Max totally controlled israel and beat him 5-1…
Israel scored 8 team points because UWW uses classification points instead of straight line “placing” to award team points and israel had a tech his first match and scored 5 classification points… max with his 5-1 win over Israel only scored 3 classification points…
anyway…
if you switch those points the US ends up with 28pts as a team…
only one US team since 2014 (far back as UWW database goes) comes close to that point total and that is in 2018 when Coon had the dream draw of all time and ended up in the gold medal match where he got teched by semenov in under 1 minute…
with coon’s “20” pts that team had 28pts total…

this concludes this weeks wrestling nerd updates…

PDIII and varner signed for RAF 2…
my kingdom for an in shape PDIII…
sadly that has not happened since 2019…
on another RAF note…
was chatting with a buddy with tito ties and apparently the sonnen match is a real possibility for the january event…
i am not into the gimmick aspect of it, but, i guess i am going to have to let that go…
i have a year of fukn fox nation now so i am watching no matter what…

I think hes some youtube guy.I thought they did a match already about a year ago? I could be wrong.
man, i was concerned about RAF being too gimmicky, but, i guess they have to try something different after every other “pro” league has failed already…
i mean i will watch, but…

according to social comments they wrestled about a year ago and cayden injured him with a dump…
i guess dude is not much more than a JV wrestler but a million+ followers is the key part of the matchup…
He goes by the name “Mugsy Bulljunk” on social media. Not a bad wrestler. Realistically, the chances of him beating Herschel are slimmer than slim to none. Anything can happen, though. That’s where we wrestle the matches and don’t just decide champions in seed meetings.
In my opinion, they should be offering matches to up and coming guys. There are only so many elite level people around and they will run out of matchups rather quickly. They could easily host some fantastic matches between elite HS guys, elite college guys, and maybe one or two main events with internationally ranked guys on each card. Will showcase all levels of talent, and it’s a much more sustainable model.
the problem with HS and college athletes competing are the archaic rules being applied by individual states and the NCAA in regards to eligibility and payments and all that other bullshit that really does not matter…
i was concerned they were going to go to far gimmicky and with this co-main and then hearing they really are pushing for sonnen and tito i feel like my fears are being realized…
but again… maybe they need those silly views to keep the ball rolling for the first few events…

Thoughts? Comments?
what do you want me to say i haven’t said a million times before?
they went to one tournament and cherry pick whatever anecdotal evidence to support their ignorant point of view…
anyone who complains about scoring in greco while saying folk is great when as many matches up with the same scores or won by ride time is just an ignorant fool…
i got annoyed by nerds whining about points scored last year and did a quick compilation of real data over the medal matches at worlds last year and there were more points scored on average in greco than free…
and still those nerds started making all these sorts of qualifications and what ifs on the real numbers…
i have no reason to believe those numbers changed significantly after this years worlds…
ignorant nerds that are not interested in not being ignorant because their tiny niche’ all think the same anyway and just want to live in an echo chamber…
Going through some past vids…
Some past matches…
It’s kinda funny…
None of the Flo guys ever did anything in wrestling…
They are literally just fan boys who had nothing going on when Flo Joe was starting Flo wrestling…
And now 15 years later they finally get to “commentate” on Greco and think their opinion actually means something…
Whatever…
