i was a card carrying member for a decade… bronze level coach… reffed for the over 5 years… and it turned super sour after otto turned down their offer to go live at the OTC when he was 17…
started a bit of a war that culminated in me mid match having one of the greco national team coaches by the elbow trying to drag him outside so we could settle this…
he quickly realized i was not kidding and he backed off… old man would probably have murdered me in the parking lot but i was mad enough to find out… quit reffing right then mid match and will never purchase another card from them or be involved in anyway…
we are mostly cool now, but, i still do not care for the scumbags that are in charge…
I have issues with the SafeSport thing. I’m sure you heard about the saga of how one guy cheating on his wife blew up one of the best rooms for women ever assembled.
a “friend” who had a daughter who was a world champ was one of several who had safe sport against said guy and USAW refused to even interview her about it because they just wanted it swept under the rug…
that was going on the exact same time i was fighting with them and former BBS foe and i bonded over our fights with USAW…
and that is just tip of the spear stuff that is not public knowledge…

I know who you’re talking about. Nicest guy in the world but holy fuck never get on his bad side. I was around the RTC just watching at the time, and you could tell that something was up and it could just detonate at any minute. The girl involved is such an idiot too. The guy’s wife is really nice, I met her once or twice, her husband couldn’t care less about her. He seemed perfectly fine ignoring her. I think that guy is an idiot, he had the easiest job and managed to fuck it up for himself because he couldn’t keep it in his pants. It had a bad ripple effect too.
Completely agree. There’s a youth coach who was protected for some inexplicable reason and passed away a few years ago. I got into it with someone because I said I wasn’t sad he was gone. Of course that person is a piece of work too.
Most of the time when that kind of thing happens they are dealt with.
Why’d we send 3 at 125 kg anyway? I don’t like our chances with any of them at worlds. I feel like Hendrickson beating Steveson was like one in a million and would never happen again.

i know there is a new guy who has recently taken an intyerest in funding wrestling, so, i feel like they may be responsible for us going more places and sending more guys specifically on the greco side…
Interesting. I know there’s been some heavy hitters but none seem to stick really. Or they’ll just come out to solve problems, like when my alma mater cut wrestling for about a week.
