good start besides the ankle

still no word on the ankle…

he is last match of the semis so i am sure he is getting it worked on hard right now…

Sanchez was the 19th seed in the NYS tournament this weekend. He won his first match but had a tough draw next round, facing the third seed. He lost that but came right back to tech his opponent in his first consolation bout.

He’s alive today starting at 9:30am. Good luck!

cr5tazy match so far…

watrching…

but otto up 4-2 2 minutes left second

otto just slipped on a head an arm…

4-2 1 minute left

4-4 GEO criteria 35 second left

that is the final…

really hard fought match…

obviosuly would have liked the win but can’[t be unhappy with that effort

the action was a little too intense for me to do play by play…

quick rercap…

GEo toguh in the hand fight but otto staying with him and picks up a qucik shuck and the TD ealry first but can not get any par terre going… still strong hand fight and the GEO getting unders and then otto goes double overs for the cporrect to go up 4-0…

nothing but more tough hand fighting and attempt by otto that are repelled…

4-0 at trhe break…

pace is crazy in the early second as GEO wants his par terre but otto staying right with him… action so intense ref offers par terre but both judge and chair white paddle it multiple times…

GEO gets otto to the edge and otto kinda has to bail… ends up quad pod and GEO gets lift but otto fights it off but does end up hitting a knee on the edge to give up the TD…

then it is just an all oiut war on the feet that GEO finally wins and gets a TD with 35 seconds left and holds on for the 4-4 criteria win…

no forced par terre in either period in a greco match is crazy… that is how hard they were banging…

again, super happy with the effort…

after all that…

it did bring nutter back into repechage and he just faced zakriev and got tech smashed… as he was getting rolled up in par terre he got his arm caught up and probably broken…

hope he is ok… looked ugly…

otto gets a chance to get his money back from zakriev in the bronze medal match…

ildar got pulled back in but got pinned…

didn’t see

103 is gonna be Nassau (1 seed) vs Suffolk (2 seed) for the finals. Pretty cool.

Long Beach vs North Babylon.

A couple really interesting finals coming up with Long Island implications.

At 118, Dunia Sibomana from Long Beach is going for a second straight state championship. He’s the kid who survived a horrendous chimpanzee attack when he was a kid.

At 157, Camryn Howard is #1 in the nation. Just steam rolling everyone.

Sanchez will be all state! Congrats to your buddy!

He tech’d his next opponent in the consolations. The worst he can get is 8th. Can place as high as fifth.
