Alex Dancing At HW

Alex Pereira’s legendary knockout power looks like it’s going to translate just fine in a new division.

The two-time light heavyweight champion officially moves up to heavyweight on June 14 when he fights Ciryl Gane for an interim title in the co-main event of UFC White House. With a win, Pereira would become the first UFC fighter ever to capture belts in three divisions.

“Poatan” has chronicled much of his heavyweight journey on social media and his latest clip might be the most intriguing yet as it shows him unloading on longtime coach and mentor Glover Teixeira against a gym wall with the sound of his punches echoing through the gym.

In his brief UFC career, Pereira has established himself as one of the most feared knockout artists of all time, with dramatic finishes over Israel Adesanya, Jiri Prochazka, Sean Strickland, Khalil Rountree, Jamahal Hill, and Magomed Ankalaev. The latter KO avenged Pereira’s lone loss at light heavyweight and made him a two-time champion in the division. He also previously held the middleweight title after defeating longtime rival Adesanya.

He now seeks to add one more accolade to his already legendary fighting career when he faces Gane on the White House lawn in June.

Even holding pads for that animal would be an experience.

There are dudes who make your forearms and hands hurt after a good session in almost any decent gym, and they don’t hit half as hard as that dude.

I actually held the pads for Alex once. He told ME to take it easy. I still don’t know what I was doing wrong

Mark my words, and mark them good - Gane by whatever he wants.

Alex looks a little softer, but he has the frame for it.

Quite a wide stance for deadlifting.

He’s going to gas, and Gane is the naturally bigger, faster, and more athletic guy.

Didn’t Alex get put into a coma by a 183lbs Izzy?

I don’t understand the worship for Alex on this board.

Pereira beats Gane, beats Aspinall, and it entices Jones to come out of retirement. Jon beats him in under 90 seconds. Within a month gets arrested for another DUI hit and run.
