Yeah he really had him in that second fight!
Dont know if its true or not but i heard silva had a hurt rib in the first fight. Also that he wanted to submit chael due to his trash talk about the nog brothers who gave silva his blackbelt. The only fight where he walked out in his gi. 2nd fight didnt have much wrestling as chael missed a spinning back fist and fell up against the cage and got smashed. Dont remeber if silva stuffed or avoided any takedowns. That being said chael aint no hazmat.

Like Water doc that was filmed leading to Chael fight shows Silva dealing with the rib injury and he literally tells Nog that he will submit Chael lol. Silva was amazing

To be fair, all that “nearly finished him” only got him submitted by an injured Silva and finished by a healthy Silva.
Might as well have said Anderson got all kinds of fucked up by Chris Weidman. Imagine what Chimaev would do to him!
That was DDP’s mistake. He thought since he could beat all of Chimaev’s opponents, he could beat Chimaev himself.
MMAth doesn’t work that way.
No way Chimaev stands with Silva, and no one wants to see a deadly striker get wrestlefucked for 5 rounds.
