Even prescription shit will do that to a person. Like if you’re popping ADD meds like candy and drinking/smoking weed all the time your brain turns to mush. Happened to me.

Oddly enough I think he said he didnt like that time because it was S&C focused and not fighting focused. Dude already had all the skills in the world, just needed a gas tank.

I think it was also a period of discipline and stability, which he badly needed. Being a ‘prodigy’ was a curse in a lot of ways, because he had natural talent that allowed him to effortlessly succeed.
Kinda the opposite to someone like Forrest Griffin, where it always felt like he was punching above his weight, talent-wise. I wish we could have seen a version of BJ that had the discipline and focus of GSP.
It’s sad to see the old-guard falling on hard times. For me, these guys represent the golden age of MMA. Hope he gets help.

Personally, I think he may be being victimized by a government psyop for some kind of political reason. They probably got to his family, which has him believing they’ve been “replaced”. Yes, drugs and CTE are probably playing a part as well, but there may be more going on here.

CTE mixed with alcohol and drug abuse can cause profound emotional and intellectual issues. I’ve seen this movie before, hopefully someone gets him help. He’s clearly not in charge of his own mental faculties right now.
