Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul next?

lol at taking 8 rounds. I don’t think Joshua wants to damage his reputation like that. The only thing it shows is that Joshua would be OK working a fight. Which might be catastrophic for his career considering he got finished in his last fight, unless he’s basically retired without having it made public.

If he’s as serious about this match as he was about the Ngannou fight, it ends in one round.

U think Paul is faster than Joshua? Son u need to get off the drugs

100% he actually said that this was the first time he had ever heard Joshua speak lol!

He only became a world champion in the sport 9 years a go so what’s the rush I suppose!

i do not follow boxing at all…

even i knew that if tank did not want to get touched by paul he would not get touched by paul…

paul might be able to actually to get a glove on joshua at some point… of course doing so comes at much greater risk…

this is not rocket science…

it is 100% the first i ever heard joshua speak…

why would i make up fairy tales about that?

making up fairy tales is for the anonymous nerds…

I mean it’s laughable that you are offering your opinion on a sport that you clearly don’t follow or understand.

Then again you didn’t even know that soap existed in ancient times so we shouldn’t be too surprised really!

Happy Cracking Up GIF

your still salty ass got dragged into drunken ramblings and you thought you were actually doing something…

you are adorable…

my opinions of this match are way less technical and way more social…

the way anonymous forum nerds react to paul always amuse me and this is no different…

You kept clogging up my notifications with your homosexual spergery so gave you the digital beatdown you deserved!

you mean more ignorant and gay right?

stop…

you have been salty for quite awhile and still are…

i don’t follow you around, you follow me nerd…

this is just another example…

Boxing is my bread and butter so you are indeed in my territory.

I don’t sexually harass you in your John Cena wrestling threads do I?

You’re right to call that out. The reality of a fight like this isn’t about entertaining rounds—it’s about decisively ending the contest before the kid even knows what hit him.Joshua’s power and precision won’t allow him to “work” the fight like a chess match unless he’s playing with fire or managing an injury. If he’s serious, like he was against Ngannou, that first round will be a clinic of dominance—sharp jabs, a thunderous right hand, and probably a knockout before the bell rings for round two.Joshua has the tools to end this early: a staggering jab to disrupt, followed by a high-impact right uppercut or hook that removes any puncher’s chance Paul thinks he has. This wouldn’t just protect Joshua’s reputation—it would reinforce it as a finisher, not a fighter who goes the distance with a YouTuber dabbling in heavyweight boxing. One round, brutal and final. The rest? Just filler for the replay reels.

i am not sure you desired intent here with your anonymous forum nerd approach, but, whatever…

my guess is your only bread and butter is actual bread and butter…

whatever…

you do you, boo…

Paul is the 14th ranked cruiserweight I guess. He might be. Less than a month away. The payout is just south of 180million. All Jake has to do is survive 8 three minutes rounds with 10oz gloves.

the reality is a bunch of people have been offered to fight paul and a bunch have turned him down…

paul actually making this fight and how it plays out is infinitely interesting to me…

way more so than the davis fight was…

I struggle believing Paul is ranked 14th at cruiserweight.. like how?!? 90% of his boxing matches have been freak show fights with washed up mma fighters..

How does Jake Paul’s record compare to other ranked boxers

Jake Paul’s professional boxing record stands at 12 wins, 1 loss, and 7 knockouts. His single loss was a split decision to Tommy Fury, who had an undefeated record at the time. Compared to other top-ranked cruiserweight boxers in the WBA and other organizations, Paul’s record is less extensive and includes fewer fights against established boxing contenders.

For comparison, the current WBA cruiserweight champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez holds a record of 48 wins, 1 loss, with no draws, demonstrating a far deeper professional history. Other top cruiserweights like Chris Billam-Smith have a record of 21-2 and Michal Cieslak at 28-2, reflecting significantly more experience in the ring.

In sum, Jake Paul’s record is relatively modest compared to many ranked cruiserweights who typically have 20+ or even 40+ fights with high win totals. However, Paul’s 12-1 record and top 15 WBA ranking reflect his rapid rise in the sport despite less experience compared to veteran boxers in the same class.[1][2][3][4]

How would Jake Paul do vs this guy? I think Jake still stands a better chance against Joshua than a top five guy his size.

This Ai boxing trainer is basically disagring with me…Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez vs Jake Paul? How would this match?

Now that’s a different animal entirely.

Zurdo is a legitimate super middleweight-to-light heavyweight who has traded leather with real opposition. He’s not retired. He’s not a relic. He’s a working professional with solid fundamentals and ring IQ. This isn’t a mismatch on paper—it’s a stylistic nightmare for Paul, and here’s why.

The Problem for Paul

Zurdo’s Game:
Zurdo is a technical boxer with excellent footwork and a solid jab. He’s got reach (6’2"), he’s durable, and he knows how to control distance. Unlike Joshua, he won’t be trying to impose his will through pure mass—he’ll frustrate Paul with precision and movement.

Paul’s Vulnerability:
Paul relies on closing the distance and landing that looping overhand right. Against someone like Zurdo who can control the perimeter with movement and a sharp jab, Paul becomes a frustrated brawler chasing a ghost. Zurdo won’t stand there and let Paul reset; he’ll make Paul miss and make him pay for it.

How It Actually Goes Down

Round 1: Zurdo establishes the jab immediately. It’s not the sledgehammer Joshua throws—it’s clinical. Paul tries to close the distance and gets caught with a clean right hand that staggers him. Paul doesn’t fall, but now he’s thinking instead of reacting.

Rounds 2-3: Zurdo controls the ring with footwork. Every time Paul tries to explode forward, he runs into a jab or a crisp combination. Zurdo isn’t trying to knock him out yet; he’s breaking him down mentally. Paul is eating more clean shots than he’s landing.

Round 4: Paul gets desperate and wild. Zurdo slips a haymaker and counters with a solid right hand that puts Paul on the canvas. Paul gets up (he’s got heart, I’ll give him that), but now there’s genuine fear in his eyes. This isn’t a retired fighter or a YouTuber—this is a real boxer.

Round 5-6: Zurdo smells blood. He’s not chasing the knockout; he’s making Paul work for every inch of the ring. By Round 6, Paul’s face is cut, his legs are heavy, and Zurdo is landing at will. The ref could stop it here, but Zurdo keeps working.

Result: Zurdo wins by decision or stoppage, probably Round 7-8. It’s not a violent destruction like Joshua would deliver—it’s a systematic dismantling by a superior craftsman.

The Key Difference

Joshua would end it in Round 1 because of brute force and mass. Zurdo would end it in the mid-rounds because of skill, experience, and ring IQ. Against Joshua, Paul gets knocked out. Against Zurdo, Paul gets exposed—and that’s worse for his brand.

Zurdo doesn’t need to be a heavyweight to beat Paul. He just needs to be a real boxer, and he is.

That split decision was bullshit he clearly lost 6 of those 8 rounds to Tommy by a mile.

Yes, but that’s a big ask.

I think Anthony Joshua is getting something like £50M for the fight. Jake Paul’s best chance is that AJ wants to carry him for a few rounds in the hope that it leads to another big payday.

AJ isn’t much of a boxer in the pure sense of the word, but he’s like night and day when compared with Jake Paul. And I actually quite like Jake Paul.
